ATTENTION: Rising Seniors! Be in the best possible position to earn scholarship $$$ for college. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to get your college applications completed during the summer and be ready to submit to colleges in the early fall. The College Workshop is either a 2.5-day or 4-day (morning or afternoon) workshop designed to help rising seniors prepare their college applications. The activities will include:

• Find the “right fit” in a college
• Establish timelines for meeting all admissions deadlines
• Create and build an Activity Resume
• Complete the Common Application
• Complete the Apply Texas Application
• Write a Short Answer Essay (150 words or less)
• Write two 500-word Essays
• Understand the College Admission Process
• Make your college applications stand out
• Master effective interviewing skills

Each essay will be critiqued by Catherine Marrs, CEP (the workshop instructor), and written suggestions for improvement will be given to each student. Students will have the opportunity to hear from at least one College Admissions Professional from an area university.
